The large black wolf gratefully accepted the nuzzle, allowing himself a wan smile and a quiet sigh at the pleasure of it all. He'd longed for this, and now it was his. And, Halifax - you'll never relinquish it again. After this little encounter with Thanh's mate and family (and after giving the girl a proper den to raise her children - they couldn't stay in this drafty hole, now could they?), he'd sleep. Or hunt. Or perhaps get to know Tsuka and Mirai and Ani better. As his thoughts turned again to his newest brood, a thoughtful frown appeared upon Halifax's face; it appeared he was preoccupied. He didn't want his family to know this, but his thoughts were elsewhere.
Thanh was taken aback at the "hug", but welcomed it and cuddled beside his grandmother a moment to return it. A warm smile appeared upon his tired face; and he, like his grandfather, gave a happy little sigh. Again, the similarities in their actions was comical, especially to Alte; she continued to hover protectively above Kili, Lulu and Darken, smiling along with the rest of her adopted "family". Surely, this couldn't be bad. Better than her father and his almost abusive ignorance of her needs. It wasn't his fault, she knew; her mother was dead. Apparently they'd been true loves, Bryluen and Vercingetorix... and Arthur was gone too. Perhaps it was because she'd naught been alive long enough to remember either very well (or perhaps it was another reason Alte didn't want to explore); but she really didn't miss them. After all... how could one miss what one had never had?
The trio of pups peeped up from beneath their mother. Shy little Kili remained curled up under Alte, disliking the fact that she could see her breath and the large wolves outside; she didn't like meeting others. Alte nudged her softly, gently, and she curled up and slept again. Darkenrapture silently took in his grandparents of a few turns, his angry red-orange eyes settling first upon Halifax and then upon Celtic Sprite.
There was something frighteningly eerie about those almost Satanic eyes, something Halifax couldn't quite place. But he didn't like Darkenrapture. He'd never out and say it; that would be impolite towards Alte and Thanh. But, in the silence of his heart, an emotion Halifax hadn't felt in a long while stirred as his great-grandson stared at he and his mate; fear.
Lulu shoved her brother out of the way and, before Alte could do anything, marched out of the den and straight towards Spritey. How she accomplished this without the help of her milky-blue, sightless eyes was remarkable. But she did, and, taking a breath, the dark-grey babe gave a mighty yap of greeting.
Halifax chuckled, scooping up the little pup and returning her to Alte, who thanked him.
"Well... shall we perhaps move these little ones and their mum somewhere not so cold?" The proud old wolf asked, turning to Spritey and Thanh.

Roux let out a cold chuckle, his warm breath rising in the air that was almost as cold as his laugh. It wasn't a pleasant sound, either; it was cruel and mocking and provoking, as if Mirai was a child and he, Roux, a bully. The cruel curves of a smile appeared upon his dark lips, and he called out in reply to Mirai. "But I'm right here... Can you not see?" The auburn brute scoffed haughtily. He knew Mirai was blind; the cruel taunting in his voice should have told his brother that.
Nathaniel continued to stalk, silent as a shadow, her gray eyes flashing as the long stalks of yellow crashed upon the bleak grey of her eyes.
