Posted by Celtic Sprite et All on 12/28/2004, 2:55 am, in reply to "..not so chilly.." Thanh's suddenly desolate appearance, however, returned the warming sympathy to Spritey's gaze. She moved forward, affectionately wrapping a wing around the young brute. "Do not look as though I have just condemned the stars to strike your head, Love," she murmured, embracing him. "Life is about making mistakes and learning. Disappointment is not forever, redemption is always readily at paw." When he moved to introduce the ivory femme and her mate, the dam's face was much more reassuring. She nodded to the young wolfess politely, though her eyes registered no familiarity with the lineage. By the sound of it, she was supposed to be known to the lady's ears. Then again, Spritey's convoluted life allowed little for socialization and gossip. She hadn't any close friends save Darkest of Shadows, after all. Alte's formality received a chuckle from the elder fae. "Darling, our lines are anything but great!" she proclaimed, nudging her mate playfully. "At least, my side holds no acclaim. Halifax, on the other paw, bears the noble and notable blood. I'm afraid I'm just another wayward wanderer who has only just gained a place." When the names of her newest grandchildren, several times over by now, were revealed, Spritey couldn't repress her delight. She moved closer, wet black nose inhaling the distinct scents of each of them. "They are lovely," she murmured, recalling when her own trio of trouble-makers were so little. "Strong names, too. Hello Kiri, Lulu, Darken. We'll see to it that you all grow up happy and safe within our pack." Sighing, she displaced herself back at Halifax's side, leaning more heavily upon him and feeling suddenly quite drained. Her head rested against his neck, eyes never leaving what little her vision was blessed of the new litter. Mirai's auds caught the ceased foot-falls of his target and he slowed his own pace. Instead of wandering blindly about, the cloudy-orbed brute shoved his nose into the snow and sought out the scent of Roux. His nose was immediately permeated with the strong musk of his brother and he growled, lifting his head and giving a sightless survey of the surrounding land. A sharp bark was issued, the bouncing echoes helping him to situate himself in the terra...much like a bat's screech. "Come out you pathetic stalker!" Mirai d'Halifax bellowed, auds perked for any hint of approach. "Or do you fear to face me? Wise instincts." ((*gapes* When did HTMLing start working on the Water Board?!))

Spritey's muzzle dove into the coat of her mate when she caught his discomfort. She nuzzled him briefly, her eyes still sombre in their pained recognition. But a fondness for this timid, yet spirited, young fae was already establishing itself in her heart. Her eyes were still cold with contemplation upon her grandson, and she did not bother to hide the utter disappointment she felt towards him. She had bestowed their pack upon Thanh because she believed him to be capable of wise decisions. Instead, he brought a stranger bearing pups and left her to freeze in a den unsuited for a litter and their mum. It appeared he still had some growing up to do, in spite of her complete faith.
