My son has a 43 degree curve. He has been monitored for this curve since he was 4. He has a brace he is suppose to wear for 16 hours a day, which he hates. He says he cannot breath, starts coughing, hyperventaleing, vomiting, etc. The doctors say the brace probably won't prevent him needing surgery in the future, just delaying it. If he hates the brace so much and it will do no good, should I continue to make him wear it, or just let nature take it course, and have the surgery, when the curve hits 50. I am very tired of fighting over the brace. He is a normally tolerent kid, who has faced 5 operations for various things already, but cannot stand the brace...any suggestion? Thanks
