This is being written for my neighbor Karen, who has no computer, but wants to communicate with a support group. Had 8 hr scoliosis surgery Sept. 03. Had double scoliosis. At the time of the surgery my upper curve was 79 my lower curve was 55. The lower curve was pushing out to the left causing extreme pain to left hip. After surgery, my upper curve was reduced to 33 and lower curve reduced to 22. In May of 04 I had to go back in for a followup surgery because one of the upper rods came loose, had to remove part of the rod. Dr. said all looked good and it had fused. However, now I am having upper right shoulder pain, both of the buttocks hurt and nerve pain down right upper leg. Please let me know if anyone out there is having similar problems. I was 58 yrs old when I had this surgery. Let me know if there are any suggestions or advice on how to cope with this situation.
