Thank you for responding for I was begining to think no one could understand. I had my surgeries at Loma Linda University Hospital in California. I have several surgeons dealing with me in regards to my continueing problem yet no one with answers on why this keeps happening. The first surgery I was told of possible fusions not taking but no one ever stated that the rods might break. It was never an issue. It took me 10mo til I got them to listen that something was wrong then was placed in my second surgery. I was told things were to be better but inturn they were wrong now 9mo after 2nd I'm dealing with it again. The second rod broke some where between the 2nd surgery and 3mo later. It wasnt until I as having extreme pain that I found out the rod was broke. When I saw my surgeon on 2/05 expressing to him that something was wrong he inturn told me it was how he placed the rod in me during the 1st surgery for that was why the rod looked like that. I insisted he was wrong for x-rays were taken and I was right it was broke. Now they want to do another surgery but I feel I have lost my trust and believing in them. The 1st surgery I was afraid. The 2nd I was horrified for I knew what I was going to endure now the 3rd. Physically, emotionally and mentally I feel I'm not strong enough for a 3rd. They said they have done everything possible for me still with no answers to ease the fear of the unknown. The rods are titaium. They used donor bones for the fusions place drops around my fusions, longer screws in (R) pelvic for this is the area where the rods broke and 2 cages in lower spine and indicated this it would work and now look. I followed all the do's and don'ts in recovery both times and was very careful. If you have questions please ask for it would be easier to inform you with answers to your questions. Thank you
