I can understand why you are so frustrated about your brace. It must be so uncomfortable. I'm just glad that you aren't required to wear it during school hours. It seems like the brace has helped you a lot though. I'm not sure what the probability is of it continuing to help you. I went through the anterior surgery at 15 and so I know what that's like. I am so glad I had surgery because now I don't have to worry about my scoliosis ever again. I'm not sure how you feel about having surgery. Right now it seems as though you just want to throw your brace in the trash. If you do have surgery I don't want you to think that you wore your brace for nothing because that's not true. You will have much greater correction from a 50 degree curve than a 70 degree curve. I think that you should continue to wear your brace and suffer through it for now to see what kind of change you continue to get. If you just can't then I would suggest you look into the surgery route. It will be tough but since you are a guy you will go through it better than I did. And then once you recover you will be so pleased that you don't have to worry about your scoliosis ever again. I'm sure you have a lot of hesitations about surgery and that's is totally understandable. You still have time to think about all of this so don't put yourself into a panic right now. Everything will turn out ok. Keep us updated.
