Thanks Nicole for sharing that with us.
I am 43 years old and was diagnosed with S-curve scoliosis at age 14, I think. I was given a brace, but didn't wear it as diligently as I was supposed to. I still look normal except people sometimes notice when I bend over and they see the small hump in my back. I have plenty of aches related to the scoliosis, and once in a while I'll sprain a muscle there, most likely because of that. I often wonder what it would feel like to have my spine straightened by a harrington rod. However, from what I've heard, a person's overall spinal flexibility is reduced from something like that. It's nice that Nicole can stand and touch her palms to the floor, but even with all the problems I have with my back, I still in many respects have a gymnast's flexibility -I can still do side splits and I can sit on the floor with my legs extended and touch my chest to the floor. I don't want to lose that flexibility.
