Dear Karen, I strongly suggest that you do pool therapy. Try to get into a pool where you can walk and walk and walk. This is the very best exercise for people who have had surgery and scoliosis. It is the one thing that does not cause stress on your other joints. The buoyancy in the water really soothes you and helps you to move also. Good luck, it takes a whole year to really get over the surgery, but at 4-6 mos out you should be feeling pretty good, so hang in there and get walking in a pool (not swimming but just walking) Sheryl C
