I believe scoliosis is caused by problems that arise in the womb when a woman is pregnant. My mother had pernicious anemia problems and Vitamin B12 deficiencies all her life. I think that since this is mainly a congenital situation that occurs when people start developing around the age of 13 (or when they are born), it has to do with something going wrong in the womb. Who knows if this could be environmental or not...but definitely deficiency problems in the expectant mother that are somehow overlooked. I wish they could find the cause and fix it though. It is a good question for those of us who have it. Thanks for posting it. Sheryl C
