Tonight, for example, a husband was finishing up, the wife was still eating, I offered the hubby another drink, he declined more soda, but did ask for a cappuccino, I used judgment and cleared his plate. In cases where someone pushes the plate aside, I will also clear that.

"TommyBoy where are you?"?? Hey, Slappy...I e-mailed you no reply. ;-) Anyhoo, at my place, we tack 18% onto parties of 8 or more. I use discretion, and sometimes do not add on...but lately, I just do it all the time. If someone wants to leave something substantially more than 18%, they'll put it on top of the already-included gratuity. I take the sure thing!
