Looks like 'Jose the Communist League Director' did a pretty good job with parity this year. With only 1 week left in the regular season, there are still 4 teams that have a shot at the top seed from Tuesday night. And with 2 games still to be played on Thursdays, at first glance there are 5 teams still in the running for the Thursday title. In the spirit of those NFL wild-card scenario analyses, here are the possible Tuesday night champions based on next week's results and tie-breakers:
*The Pen is Mightier: controls their own destiny. Win and the #1 seed is theirs. If they lose, they also need Ultimatum to lose.
*Just Add Sugar: needs to win, Ultimatum to win, Pen to lose, and Cheaper than Gold to lose.
*Ultimatum: needs to win, Sugar to win, and Pen to lose.
*Cheaper than Gold: needs to win, Sugar to win, Ultimatum to win, and Pen to lose.
On second glance, Thursday night is pretty simple, even with 2 weeks left.
*Town Tricycle: needs to beat HML.
*Huck My Life: needs to beat Town Trike.
*Jelly: only has a shot if they win this week, they beat Town Trike next week, HML loses next week, and Town Trike & HML tie this week.
*Clown Syndrome and Short Flick/Looong Hammer are both out of luck since the top 2 teams can't both lose twice in the next 2 weeks.
So basically, tomorrow night at Benedict at 8pm decides everything for the Thursday #1 seed. Technically there are a couple other convoluted tie scenarios, but that's very improbable and I've already wasted too much time writing this.
This is all moot anyway, since it's all about playoffs we all get a clean slate. Good luck and have fun everyone.
