We are moving to Australia for a year. We need someone to look after our two cats while we're gone. This could happen at our current house (you could take over our lease) or you could take the kitties to your house. Let us know if you're interested! More details below.

Ok, so this is not your standard "house-for-rent" offer, but maybe someone out there will find it appealing. Eliza and I are moving at the end of May, and will be traveling for a year, which brings up two things:
1. we are vacating our 2-bedroom apartment very near ASU's Tempe campus, close to Casey Moore's and
2. we need someone to take care of our hilarious cats - Llantas and Mufles (pronounced Yantas and Mooflayce).
We are hoping that there is someone out there who likes cats, and who is looking for nice spot to live. Our apartment is barely a block from ASU - a fantastic location on the west side of campus, with great neighbors, and lots of shade. It's quiet, and has great outdoor space on the side patio and in the front. We've kept bikes out there for years, unlocked, and never had a problem. It's ideal for a couple - right now the second bedroom is set up as an office - but it could work for two roommates as well. The rent will be somewhere around $1000-1100/month.
Our landlord, Gerald, is a very nice guy - flexible and responsive. He's fine with a month to month rental agreement, which is what we have had with him for the last 3 years. About a year and a half ago we started putting a lot of time and effort into the garden, and he helped us out with paying for it, and installed an irrigation system for the whole place, which makes it really easy to take care of.
The cats are great. We adore them! They love to play, and are comfortable both inside and outside.
Here is the proposal, for anyone who is interested:
1. Move into the apartment when we move out in the end of May; play with and take care of the cats while we're gone.
2. We will pay you for the care of the cats, probably for about 14 months - a monthly amount to be negotiated, as well as for any other issues that come up.
3. If you want, we can also leave behind the ping pong table (the cats love ping pong) and BBQ for you to use while we're gone.
4. We're also looking to sell some of our furniture, and would give you first dibs on that.
