Assigning points to individuals that effect the teams rankings.... hmmmm.....Then we could see if anyone has a nagging injury that’s slowing them down a little bit and adjust their ranking. Also, maybe poll players before hand to see if there were any recent tragic events in their life that may cause a lapse in performance, and take that into account. And then we could start testing for anabolic steroid use and take that into account.
The Nabity rankings are always an interesting conversation piece but making them more accurate than they already are would take enormous effort. Everyone has their own opinion on these rankings anyway, I know I do. At the end of the day it provides another aspect of frisbee to talk about, so they should stay.
But in actual seriousness if someone wants to be responsible for assigning values to players on teams and factoring that in while they're absent, I'm all for standing way back and not getting involved in any way. Plus, as a person who captains now and then I don't want to be the one that tells my team member that they are 14/15 or 15/15 on my team according to the "nabity ranking factor". Someone else will have to do that for me. It seems counter productive in expanding this great community that we have.
On the positive side, would I heckle a designated one or two ranked player on a team if they screwed up? Oh yeah, but wait, I know who all those people are and do that anyway.
