Hi all,
I recently became involved with an organization called Ultimate Peace (www.ultimatepeace.org). It's an American not-for-profit dedicated to fostering peace around the world through ultimate frisbee. Their inaugural effort takes place in Israel in early April, where 20 American volunteer coaches are teaming up with the Peres Center for Peace to "bring together disadvantaged youth from Palestinian and Jewish communities from the West Bank and within Israel to learn, play and unite around the sport of Ultimate Frisbee."
Over five days, the group will be hosting clinics, seminars, training sessions, and tournaments. I'll be mixing my love for ultimate with my passion of photography to document the program. My goal is to use the images to bring awareness of Ultimate Peace and its accomplishments to a wider audience.
To make this incredible program a reality, they've raised over $35,000 in cash and $25,000 of in-kind donations. They're still $10,000 short, though, and need all of the help they can get to reach their goal in the next two weeks. With the economy as it is, every little bit goes a long way. Please check out http://www.ultimatepeace.org/donate/ to see how you can make a tax deductible contribution. You can also help spread the word by becoming a fan on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/UltimatePeace
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thanks,
Marc
