Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for mentioning this item. I am glad to know I wasn't imagining it, or that I had just made it up in my head.
I went to a classmate's birthday party in second or third grade, so it would have been between fall of 1968 and spring of 1970. I won a mitt like this as a door prize, but it is long gone. If you could, could you add a picture of this so that I could see if it's what I won as a child?
Anyway, I always thought it was an Avon item, but I could be wrong.
Actually, I didn't care for the item all that much. The mitt had a faint odor to it, and the talcum powder always went everywhere in the bathroom. I think that's why I eventually disposed of it.
