Regarding Girls Aloud, yeah, they're from different parts of the UK: Yorkshire, the North West, the North East and Northern Ireland. Not too sure how to describe the accents but, like you said, the influence is geographical. Think Kelantan Malay compared to Penang Malay; Penang Hokkien compared with Malacca Hokkien etc.
To be honest, most people regard UK ladies as somewhat... large, especially the Northerners (there's still traces of a historical North-South bias here i.e. South = bourgeois, cultural, hip, royal, Europeanized London; North = dirty, polluted, backward, dim-witted, industrialized working class; though this is changing with the modernization of the country as a whole). Some people have even perceived them to be "the sluts of Europe" due to the fact that the only way they seem to be able to attract a bloke is to wear fishnets and high heels (compared to the fashionistas of Paris, Milan and Italy). Still, that's not to say that it's completely bad, though - where do you think Girls Aloud, Sugarbabes or even the Spice Girls comes from?
And yeah, Emma's pretty cute - though why Hermione hooked up with Ron wimpy-snivelly-bloody-Weasley is beyond me
