Hi Mark,
We are San Diego Formula Windsurfing. To date, I feel that our Group forms a generous representation of the San Diego Formula scene. You were there; it was only last December 14th when we met to form our strategy, and I feel that we are well on our way, if not already there! But I would not go so far as to claim that our group represents more than it does. I would guess that Joe, Eric, and Gabor are but a small fraction of the available Racers in the LA region. To claim a Southern California Champion, we must have representation and participation from Southern California. Were not there yet.
Joe has generously invited us to race with his Long Beach Group at Belmont this summer. I expect 5 to 8 of our fleet to attend. I also expect that we will outnumber the LA contingent, and thats fine. Their number has far more potential than ours. Joes (Eric & Gabor also) very participation in our events will contribute to our growth, and our participation in his races will give his LA efforts even more of a boost. We have a head start on Joe. We can help him to catch up. Maybe next year we will all be Southern California Formula Windsurfing (???).
Should Joes series count in our Points Race? Not this year... Not unless a majority of our ORIGINAL GROUP supports it. We voted on a schedule in December. We all had reasons for limiting the Points Events to just 12. We can put it to a vote at J-Street May 3rd (you were right Joe, next meet is J-Street).
Why are the LB Participants included in our Points Standings? I cant think of a reason that they (or anyone else) shouldnt be!
As for me beating Joe
Ill have to schedule a few hundred hours of liposuction and actually practice more that twice a month! Maybe I can get KP to stand in for me. Offer him a free t-shirt or something!
Bring the rafts May 3rd to J-Street. Ill look after them.
