Hi Nathan,
Hodges is a Spring/Summer sailing area. We will be allowed to sail there weekends only through October. After that we'll have to wait till late Spring of 2006.
The water is warm, about 70-75 and the wind can come up about 11:00AM and blows till late afternoon. Hodges is strictly thermal and winds are directly relative to the temp difference between the coast and desert. The bigger the difference...the stronger the wind. 10-15mph is common and it can get to the high teens as well.
In the past we sailed there with sails from 6 to 8 meters. Recently I've sailed there with Formula gear and an 11.6 and had a blast.

I hope this helps,
Robert
