I have a son who has Central Auditory Processing Disorder. He does beautifully in a one-on-one setting. He attends Barre City School and is going into the 3rd grade. I'm not sure how or why he passed second grade, as he does not have the skills he needed for 3rd grade (reading comprehension, addition and subtaction, sight words, etc). I am not concerned about the socialization as he does not really make friends and shows no interest in having them. I am considering home schooling him as he doesn't qualify for an IEP or any kind of services as his IQ is very high and he is "on the same level as his peers". I am having a hard time making the decision whether to try home schooling as I don't want to mess him up! This whole home schooling issue is very scary for me and I'm not sure how to begin. Any suggestions? Comments? Help?
