Posted by Susan S Here's our problem - my daughter must attend a 45 minute driver's ed class everyday for a semester (half year). She is only allowed 8 absences, but has more than 8 conflicts with other homeschooling commitments which the school will not allow as excused absences. She needs only 30 hours of classroom instruction (plus driving and observing time) according to DMV state statutes. This class gives her total of 66 hours. We are willing to give up the acedemic credit if she would be allowed more absences, but the school says it has never been done before. Does anyone know if it has at other schools?? Thanks Susan

Does anyone one know of a high school which gave a student the credential needed to obtain a driver's license (for passing the driver's ed class meeting DMV requirements) without giving the student the acedemic credit?
