Explore the art of drawing and painting. Students will be guided in their learning and will build new skills while working from nature, observation and imagination. Students will be encouraged to use a variety of media including pencils, markers, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, acrylics and tempera paints and will explore the joys of mixing color. Projects will vary from still life to cartoons and be based on the students’ individual interests. (Class code: 842426-1)

Ann Joppe-Mercure has taught visual arts to ages two through eighty-two for over twenty-five years in public and private schools, library programs and summer camps. She currently teaches at Underhill Central School and Saint Michael’s College and has written educational materials for Crayola.

Explore the joy and possibilities of making art from clay. Students will be guided in the use of hand building techniques and the potter’s wheel to create one of a kind sculptures and pottery.
