Posted by Jessa I suffer from anxiety that is disabling, I do not drive alone etc. My daughter came to me the other night and asked if she could not go to school and be taught at home. I started thinking about this, as I never really have before. I was “unschooled” because my family and I lived in Revere Mass, bad area for schools high drugs violence etc. But my mother, whom had 7 children , never really taught us. I had, and am still having a hard time academically in life; although I have a high GPA, there are areas such as math that I was never taught in. I went to college part time for four years but didn’t complete it due to a math leering issue. I am about 4 classes away from my degree. My fiancé, my daughter’s father, and I thought maybe we would try home schooling for one semester to see how things go, but now I am so afraid that this will push her further into her anxiety. And in a way is it catering to mine? I have anxiety about even walking her to the bus stop; I have anxiety about her going to such a large school. I guess I feel like I just don’t’ want her in public school, there is a very good school near by that is 3ed to 8th grade, but it is $11,000 a year! It is small and focuses on arts and growth. Any insight on homes schooling and anxiety? Any info would be very much appreciated.

Ok, here is my predicament,
My daughter is heading for 2ed grade, we recently moved from a small town where she eventually was comfortable in her school, although she suffered from separation anxiety the first few months. To a town where the school has 3 time the kids per class. She is said to be a fast learner and past 1st grade exceeding all expectations on her test.
