If you call me out I'll gladly respond, but next time please get all the facts correct. |
Yes, after last years tourney I said I believe that Gut Check has surpassed Tri-State as the more competitive tournament but we need both tournaments for our wrestlers to get better and acknowledged. I also said I thought after the top 5 or 8 teams at Doc B, we ran a little deeper as far as competition due to the wildcard concept. I still stand by that but year by year teams change hence the tournaments change. Doc B and Tri-State are well run, tenured events that probably paved the way for Gut Check to exist and inspired my idea.
When making comparisons like who placed where at ours versus another, make sure your matching apples to apples. The line-ups are different each weekend for most teams, injuries, illness, not making weight, discipline, and other scratches come in to play.
We have a number of Doc B teams committed to us for next year like Roseburg and Clovis North, so that will sway things. We have a number of other high end and nationally ranked teams considering us as well that we are trying to close the deal with.
All I care about is the fact that WA is getting the attention it deserves, FLO is on board in helping us build this thing into a powerhouse, and that the coaches, parents, fans and wrestlers enjoy it and leave better wrestlers!
No need to call me out on a message board especially anonymously, but next time if you do, please offer to help set up, break down, or help us be a better tournament instead of trying to knock me or the tournament. Thanks
