I wish we had a team state like Wisconsin and some others do (separate from individual state). That said, I'd hate to see a weighted team score at our current state tournament. What we do now rewards the very best programs up to 2-deep. You think there's a lot of transferring and recruiting right now? Check out a state where they work off the one kid per weight model. Colorado for example has had this issue for years. Time and again you end up with two guys pushing each other since they were kids and eventually one is trying to wrestle at a less than optimal weight, transferring, or flat out quitting. What we do encourages maximum participation and rewards teams for their performance. It's not just big schools that benefit. Forks is small but they have two studs at 113 that are both top 5 wrestlers. It would be a shame if both couldn't go to state or if both didn't contribute to their team points. Just my 2 cents.
