1. Have people mentioned to the directors/ organizers that kids arenít weighing in? If so and it hasnít been corrected or addressed, there is a problem. Itís an easy fix.
2. Have coaches and/ or parents allows their wrestlers to wrestle knowing they didnít make the designated weight ? If so, in my opinion there is another problem.
There is no room for absolutely anybody to not make weight and be allowed to wrestle. I think this is an easy fix. You either make weight or you donít. If you donít, you donít wrestle. As a coach or parent, Iíd pull my own wrestler from a tournament so quick even after the fact the next morning if I ever found that out they didnít weigh in. That doesnít make me special or anything, that is just the way it should be. I would think most would do the same, maybe Iím wrong.
When I ran weigh ins at Tri State, (more than 15 years ago) everyone weighed in. Unless they had an imposter weigh in for them that I wasnít aware of, they made weight. Itís hard to fathom to me that anyone wouldnít make weight and with a good conscience continue to wrestle. I asked my brother if this was a thing when he ran weigh ins a time or two. Also a long time ago. His response was everyone made weight.
