I was watching a match a ref called a takedown on an attempted head and arm with the defending guy NEVER exposing his back and ALWAYS keeping his opponed in front of him having more control than the guy who attempted the head and arm and the ref gives the head and arm guy a takedown. Quickly another coach and I start telling eachother how that's a bad call. WHILE THE MATCH IS GOING, the ref overhears us, leans towards me and asks if that was a terrible call. I tell him absolutely, one of the worst. He then tells me oh well it's only 6-4, with a smile. I don't know what that meant but what I do know is that I would prefer that the opposing coach refs my matches instead of this low care individual.
In conclusion it's okay to be wrong, it's okay to be in a development stage. It is NOT okay to protect your call standing as a major priority at all cost. Especially the wrestling career of a child.
