Re: Mat side weigh-ins
It should absolutely be scratch weight. And it would eliminate the need for weigh-in sheets and early morning arrivals. Let the morons try to cut weight and then weigh in multiple times during a tournament without eating or drinking. After they miss a few times, they'll figure out that the numbers for weight classes are actually weight maximums. So weighing, for example, 148 lbs means you wrestle 152, and you can eat and drink normally throughout the day.
I think the best time to try it is during FS/GR season. I hope a number of coaches are willing to run tournaments with matside weigh-ins. I'm down to give it a shot.
