The biggest problem with your idea is, most people in our sport are married to the idea that starvation and dehydration have to be a part of it. Weight cutting rewards kids who can, for whatever reason, go longer without eating and drinking than others. It also means weight classes themselves are useless, because it absolutely does not matter what you weigh when you actually compete. If you have the "mental toughness" to starve your way down from 155 to 138, and you can step on the mat at 148 by the time the finals start, then why even have weight classes? To measure how much kids can deprive themselves of nutrients?
