We can't keep saying "These rules are why WA is behind in wrestling..." that's just not true. The best athletes in this State don't grow up wrestling. The sport of soccer is too popular here where as in other places wrestling is king or close to it. You also have multiple kids playing on All-Star baseball teams during the summer rather than wrestling.
Derek Garcia one of our states best wrestlers in recent history played football in the fall in high school. How much did he suffer from not having year round Folkstyle?
Coaches follow the rules because they are in Place and it's ethical, not because they want to hold kids back. If there are coaches on here complanning about the other coaches rule breaking it's because they're breaking the rules without consequence.
High school coaches first focus should be on developing their athletes as people, and that starts with following rules, even if they disagree because in the real world if you disagree with a rule and you don't follow it there are consequences.
