Lercher has been very clear in stating that he is aware of the incoming freshmen studs but doesn't rank them until they start beating the wrestlers already ranked above them. I think all the rankers do that. The stud freshmen usually start to show up in the rankings mid-season and move up to the top levels around post season. This is the way it has been for years and will remain. To say "I told you so" towards Lercher means nothing when you have already been told they will not get ranked until they beat the higher ranked wrestlers. I just shows what a Noobe you might be.
BTW, I don't know that either of the Rogers boys were ranked #1 as freshmen, even though I assume that most of us readers thought they would win state. Now that this year's freshmen have concluded their great seasons they can look forward to having targets on their back for the next 3 years. They are tough, they can handle it.
I've been around this sport for near 50 years. I think I have seen it all and it repeats every decade.
