People that pack up their lives and move so their kid can play a sport are a very small minority.
We see it with gymnasts in the olympics. Where there family moves to be near one of the great coaches. Most people though think they are a little obsessed though. It seems like an awful lot of pressure to put on a kid. The entire family is uprooting so you can play a sport. Like I said I would be curious to see a study of the effects on those kids 20 years down the road.
