Posted by P to the B on 2/7/2004, 11:55 am On a side note, from what I have heard, Atila Santos has made some nice strides on the court in practice this year. Atila is redshirting this year and will have four years of eligibility left. Atila is 6'10" and 215 lbs from Brazil. Hopefully Adam Salow will be back to full strength in time for next season, to help secure a very long and athletic inside game comprised of Godfread, Stout, Santos, Coleman, and Salow. UNI still has one more scholarship available, and I would suspect the team will go after another big.

Future Panther Eric Coleman of Tartan H.S. in St. Paul was one of the few named to the finalist list for the prestigious Mr. Basketball award in Minnesota. Coleman has been leading his team in points and rebounding most of the season, despite having a future Minnesota Gopher on his team. Coleman is 6'6" and 240 lbs. Eric will be a freshman next year at UNI and will hopefully help fill the void that will be lost by David Gruber and Matt Schneiderman.
