The weight of your pack would definitely be your main concern in deciding what sort of shoe/boot you choose to sport. I think the trail runners could easily handle the terrain of the trails you are planning to hike. I usually pair my trail runners up with a lightweight camp sandal, or a pair of hiking sandals. This allows your feet to breathe easier, and gives the cushion in your running shoe more time to rebound back. The cushions compress under your weight when you hike on them all day.
