Well if you are going to be backpacking alone I can make things very simple for you when it comes to pot and stove selection. I just purchased a JetBoil. It comes with everything you will need to cook a basic meal all in a self contained unit POT, STOVE, FUEL, POT GRABBER WIND SCREEN. and it all fits inside itself wit snap on lid and base. Total weight with fuel is 22 oz and it will boil a pint of water with a fresh canister in about 2.5 minutes I think that is a good as it gets. Plus it is very compact and will fit in your pack about anywhere. This thin doesn,t even get hot on the outside and appeares to put every BTU of heat directly into the water you boil. If I design the perfect stove it would be this one. What a peach. On the down side it cost about 80 bucks---Tinny--
