Hi Jason,
Where are you going? When I lived in Montana, many of the trails we took were very open, and above tree-line, so my relatively fragile Frogg Toggs rainwear worked fine. If you'll be in brushy areas any good nylon rainwear should be fine. In western Montana in the summer(is that when you are going?) the rain doesn't usually last long, so you get a chance to dry off in the afternoon.
