I bought a tarptent Virga with the sewn in floor last summer and used it on a 6 day hike. I did get a lot of condensation one night but this was after heavy rains had soaked the ground. Any tarp would probably have a similar problem. I didn't have the opportunity to see how it would work in rain but my feeling is that it would be ok. I do like the netting to keep the bugs out. I wouldn't mind haveing the new cloudburst.
