Posted by Jamie Kennedy Anyhow, the Kelly Kettle will boil 1 litre of water in 5 minutes using about as much sticks and grass as about a handful of pencils. If the fuel is wet I use the candle from my candle lantern or some potato chips to get it going. If you mix in some thicker sticks, you may end up with enough coals to warm your hands or roast a couple of marshmallows, but gormet meals are probably out of the question.

I use the Kelly Kettle when I do the Fundy Footpath in New Brunswick. It is really only good for boiling water, but that O.K. It is bulky, but light, and there are no fuel canisters to lug in and out. Nice thing about ultralight is that you have room for a little extra bulk.
