Hi,
The sunroof does not function from the sunroof switch. However, operating the drivers window switch causes it to open slightly. It then has to be closed manually.
The module connected to the motor seems to get warm over time.
Complex older cars with failing electricals. Oh Joy
Autodata naturally has no wiring diagrams. Any suggestions?
Owner is looking to sell car but is reluctant to do so with faults (There is also an intermittent loss of power to deal with, but that is another issue.)
These can be a real challenge to fix.25 year old over complicated electronics.Start by disconnecting both batteries in the boot. You may strike lucky. Also check the body control module connectors.Located up behind the glove box. Next ,I would drop the motor off the roof system to check if the sliders and cables are free and the roof panel can be moved. If it is all seized up,I would swerve this job.As for the loss of power, check both dizzy caps and rotor arms for corrosion and hairline fractures. These run 2 Bosch motronic ecus ,dont be tempted to swap them over, otherwise you will run into phasing problems.Good luck
