Evening. Sorry for the length of this post but I will try and put everything in re seen tried measured and thought. The van is a non start, owned last 3 years by a break down mechanic. He had scanned it with a Launch prior to calling me. Van has no coms with anything on the Can network. ie ECU.ABS.PAS CIM and the YAW on the end of the ABS link. All other modules report correctly with some reporting no coms with the ones we have no coms with. Pin 6 & 14 have 63ohms across them. If the ABS and the PAS are unpluged coms returns to CIM and ECU, CAN trace at the DL16 returns and the van will start. Battery voltage is correct where ever I test it. CAN wiring from the UEC to the ECU CIM PAS and ABS is all correct, reads 3ohms if I put a 3ohm resistor across the end of each link and is not shorted to earth. The UEC has no CAN pins fitted for HID lights. A known good 2nd hand UEC was tried as was a new CIM, although not programed in I would have thought the CAN to other modules would still allow coms. In any case with all modules connected I could not talk to the new CIM Thanks for reading through, any thoughts please?? Sparki.
Abs and Pas are on different branches of the can network and if you plug either unit it it drags down the entire net work. I can't see how both units have crashed at the same time. I also think that very early on I had both units unplugged with no change to the ecu comes. It was the latter stages when I noticed the CAN trace at 6 and 14 had improved and allows vehicle to start. I believe the CAN to be not strong enough to support more than 2 units and add anything else it crashes Will go out today and confirm with ecu unplugged what the coms to PAS is like. Thanks for input Sparking.
