I've found that any faults in any systems can stop the service warning reseting completely. I would imagine an ABS/TCS problem or whatever is causing the loss of cruise control operation could well be what's stopping you from completing the procedure. I have also had ignition coils, that have no noticeable misfire at the time, causing a similar problem and until replaced the service message will keep reappearing. You may find this with whatever scantool you have as an intermittent code. Don't really see many Volvos myself but think I'm right in thinking it is intended to ensure the vehicle does not leave the workshop until all faults are rectified. I have found Mercedes to have a similar setup as well as other makes. Hope this helps you out. Liam
