The movie about Knute Rockne was on tonight (a great football film with lots of good action), and it showed how he revolutionized football at Notre Dame with the forward pass. One of the best scenes was with Ronald Reagan as George Gipp (no, he didn't play hunchback), where the "Win one for the Gipper" speech originated.
Anyway, Peyton's doctors have said he could increase his workouts, though no timetable was given was his recovery and return to the Colts.
And, Jim Irsay has tweeted that he would do whatever he had to in order to draft Andrew Luck, assuming the Colts get the first pick (anyone think that they won't?), as well as keep Peyton,
Well, the Colts are starting their third QB this season, Dan Orlovsky (Kerry and Painter were the other two). Stiil without Peyton, the Colts don't have much of a chance. I know it takes more than a great QB to make a great team, but just as Peyton has taken the bows for the Colts victories, so has Tom Brady for the Patriots.
But yes, Sundays game could be lke a Badyear tire, a real blowout. Most people expect no less.
Still, who can really say how Dan Orlovsky will do. The Colts just might go 0-16. But, Jim Irsay promises that Peyton will return next year (with Andrew Luck, most likely) and the 2012 season will be far better (how can it not be). Maybe we will go from a bad year to a good year.
Praying harder every week Angie.
