NFL 2009-2010 Season Rules 1. The object of our contest is to pick the winner of each NFL game for each week of the regular NFL season. Preseason games do not count. The contest will continue into the playoffs and conclude with the Super Bowl. If you want to pick the winner of the Pro Bowl, knock yourself out, but it will not count against the standings. 2. All picks must be entered prior to the kickoff of the first games for that week. With that being said I realize everyone has a busy life and have allowed a certain amount of latitude regarding this rule. To be consistent, this is how we have always done it in past years and will continue to do so this year: a. During a week when there is a Thursday game, like there will be the first week of the season and like there will be starting again during week 10 on November 12th, you may choose to select the winner for the Thursday night game only (again prior to the game’s kickoff), and make the rest of your picks for the week sometime after that (but again, prior to the first game’s kick off). Using week 1 as an example, since there is a Thursday night game, you make pick and post the winner of that game only, if you prefer, prior to the 8:30 PM EST kickoff. You can then add the rest of your picks for the week prior to the Sunday 1:00 PM EST kickoff time. You may not make the Monday night picks separately. Please include the Monday night pick with the rest of your Sunday picks. b. I would like everyone to pick the games using the same scheduling format. At the top of the board there is a link to the NFL schedule posted by ESPN. Please use this schedule, and pick the winners of the games in the same order as they are listed on ESPN’s schedule. This makes it easier for me to correct. 3. I will check all of the picks for the week after the Monday night game and will compile the standings using a spreadsheet. The results will usually be posted on Tuesday. For an example of what a corrected week looks like, go here. Also, the current standings will be posted in the header of the board, where the final standings from last year are currently posted. 4. I am human and although I try not to I do make mistakes. I encourage everyone to look over the standings after a completed week, and do not hesitate to make me aware of any mistakes I made and I will make the correction. 5. This game is purely for fun. Please feel free to talk about anything related to the NFL, or any sport. 6. I reserve the right to refuse permission for anyone to participate in the contest or on this board at my discretion. 7.
