There is a lot of skill involved in getting the ball to where the receiver is (not to mention standing up to the rush and putting the right "touch" on the ball). But you are correct that luck plays a huge role in it. How many interceptions have we seen that the receiver tipped right into the hands of the defender, or when the receiver just plain fell down.
