Tulsa hosts one of, if not the largest Midget races in the U.S. Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in January of every year. Tulsa Expo Square Quik Trip Center. Runs Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Saturday night that week.
Port City runs Micro Sprint Cars, not to be coufused with Mini Sprnits or Midgets. All those are different in engine size and or engine architecture. With the Micro using a side mounted 600cc four cylinder inline stacked transmission motorcycle chain drive sportbike engine, the Mini Sprint uses a larger 1,200cc sometimes shaft drive powerplant, while the Midget is typically an automotive four cylinder engine, shaft drive.
Port City will be running next season thus far. The track is for sale, as are many others at any given time in history. However at this time there are no buyers for the facility, and the owners stated they will be producing races next season barring a sale of the venue.
Will Rogers Raceway in Claremore has held open track days for the midgets prior to the Chili Bowl for the past several years.
