1. Have the child act out an action (brushing his teeth) and say what he is doing. Or turn it into a game, one child acts something out and the others has to tell what he is doing.2.Use picture cards of people/person doing something and provide the model, have the child say it. Fade your model and give the child 10 pictures and tell him to tell what is happening in the picture using a complete sentence. Explain beforehand what a complete sentence is and model it. 3. Play you be the speech teacher. The child gets to be the sp. teacher and you are the child. He shows you a picture, you say a sentence and he must decide of the sentence is correct or not. For some of them, you say it correctly, for some you do not. The child judges your speech. If you say it wrong, he must provide the correct model and tell you how to say it. (Just as you would do.) 4. Tell the child that you will say a sentence incorrectly. He must correct how you say it. 5. Look inbooks and talk about what he sees happening in the pictures. Choose a favorite book of his or any children's book full of pictures.
