When in college I did some accent reduction with a Hispanic student using a mirror with emphasis on tense or lax vowel sounds. For instance, /ee/ is tense and can be seen in a mirror in the muscle tone around the mouth while /e/ is lax and is not seen as a tensor of the muscles. Other vowel sounds were similar. I did a taped language sample first to discern what the error sounds were. The Rainbow passage can be read by the client. Afterward some work was done with s/z word endings like roze/rose, hoze/hose which is specific to a culture. There are books now on accent reduction and you find more specifics there.
