What a great game for semantics, socialization, expressive language and fun! I use it with my 4th graders. Basically, one child (the judge) picks a green apple card with a word or idea on it (i.e., "wet") and the other students have to choose one of their red appple cards that most closely matches it. The judge chooses which card is the best match and sometimes this is tough. I had one child win by putting down "oranges" for "wet" because "I get wet when I eat an orange and it squirts on me". I have all of the students try to convince the judge to pick their card by explaining why it is a good match. We also define the words, discuss opposites, etc. My students with social issues also get practice interacting with other kids appropriately. The kids love this game. I got it for $17 at Amazon.
