TX utlizes SLPA's in various settings. I'm in Dallas where SLPA positions are very common. I work for a school district and the SLPA's are the main therapy providers. They collect the data, attend staff meetings, assist with writing the PLOP (present level of performance) for the IEP's and normally the SLP's will collaborate with the SLPA's on updating goals/objectives. Supervision is done by keeping in contact via phone/email to make sure things are going well. The one hour of supervision is done by doing therapy together or by watching the SLPA conduct therapy. The SLP's in my district only do ARD meetings and some also do evaluations.
