I have worked with the pre-school population for many years and I use both the PLS-4 and the CELF preschool-2. I tend to use the CELF pre-2 for my 4 year olds because I feel you get more information on skills they need to function in a classroom setting
(i.e. following directions that may not be contextually linked or understanding sentences that increase in length and complexity.) I tend to use the PLS-4 for my 3 yr olds.
