Carrryover with any sound is difficult. I can give a few suggestions. I developed a chart with different activities each day, i.e. talk to your parents at dinner time using good r sounds, read to your teacher, tell a joke, ( I also attach conversation starters that I got from this site. )etc. Parents/teachers initial chart and it is turned in for extra stickers or trip to prize box. I also use the sticker scenes from Oriental- have them create scene- dictate a story using Communications Connect, tape the story onto the back of the scene and have them read it to the class or parents, etc. This year I ordered the plain rubber bracelets from Oriental and had them decorate with their targeted sounds. They were to wear the bracelets to remind them to use their sounds. You may need to try to alter tongue position to eliminate "hollow" r sound. She is probably dragging the soft palate- making it too nasal- Sometimes just saying "get the sound out of your nose" and demonstrating the difference helps.
